Google Advertisements Account Managers Shouldn’t Contact Customers Straight

There are a growing number of reports across the web of Google Advertisements accounts managers threatening to call clients straight, despite not being permitted to.

According to the reports, companies who don’t respond to e-mails from Google Advertisements account supervisors are being met with threats from Google reps to call clients straight.

In many cases, the Google Advertisements account managers call clients and inform them to drop their agencies.

There are 2 things to make clear here:

  1. Agencies are not needed to speak to Google associates
  2. At no point must a Google Ads account supervisor call a company’s customer

A Google Advertisements representative informing clients to fire their company crosses the line.

Nevertheless, these reports are ending up being more regular.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn this week:

support our advertisers and firm partners.” Screenshot from:, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports distributed on Reddit of Google reps taking part in similar practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an email gotten by a Google Advertisements Account

Strategist, which reads: “I am composing to you one last time as a courtesy, since my honest objective is to offer you

value and innovative methods with google ads and work with you carefully, to help you conserve time and make your customers more effective with google ads, thus I am contacting you for the last time to inform you that if I do not reach you, I will assume that you are not getting my e-mails and will call the customers that I have been appointed directly.”Another Reddit user has almost the same story, stating they

‘ve been “pestered”with daily e-mails from a Google Advertisements rep to get on a call and execute project changes. Once again, firms aren’t bound to talk to Google associates or execute modifications clients aren’t requesting for. Should you receive an email like the one above, the very best thing to do is send a problem by means of

Google’s official form. Beware of these aggressive sales strategies. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your clients’projects. Included Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
